Role Overview :

We are looking for an AS400 + COBOL Support Engineer to provide application support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth execution of business-critical applications and processes. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of AS400, COBOL, DB2 querying, and CL commands, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide application support and troubleshoot day-to-day issues in an AS400 environment.

- Diagnose application issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate resolutions.

- Work with COBOL programs and perform basic troubleshooting and analysis.

- Perform DB2 querying for data validation, investigation, and issue resolution.

- Use CL (Command Language) for application support and operational activities.

- Monitor and support WINS, nightly jobs, and associated policy data processing.

- Analyze incidents and document issues, resolutions, and relevant technical details.

- Communicate effectively with users and stakeholders regarding incidents, issues, and resolutions.

- Collaborate with relevant technical teams to resolve complex application and production issues.

- Quickly learn and understand existing applications, business processes, and policy data workflows.

Required Candidate Profile :

- Experience working with AS400 / IBM i environments.

- Working knowledge of COBOL, DB2, and CL commands.

- Strong troubleshooting and basic application support skills.

- Ability to diagnose application issues and perform initial root-cause analysis.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to interact with users and clearly document incidents and resolutions.

- Willingness and aptitude to learn WINS, nightly jobs, and policy data processing.

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a support environment.
