Subject Matter Expert - Google Cloud Platform

Description :

We are looking for a GCP Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, ensure best practices, and support teams in building secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and architect GCP-based solutions aligned with business requirements

- Act as the primary technical authority for GCP across projects

- Build, deploy, and manage workloads on GCP services

- Implement high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery solutions

- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost

- Manage GCP networking (VPC, Subnets, Firewall Rules, Load Balancers)

- Implement security best practices (IAM, KMS, VPC Service Controls)

- Lead cloud migrations from on-prem or other clouds to GCP

- Integrate GCP services with CI/CD pipelines

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve GCP infrastructure issues

- Create technical documentation, standards, and best practices

- Mentor teams and conduct technical reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform

- Expertise in core GCP services:

1. Compute Engine, Cloud Run, App Engine

2. GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)

3. Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk

4. Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Spanner (as applicable)

- Strong understanding of GCP networking

- Proficiency with IAM, security, and compliance on GCP

- Experience with monitoring & logging (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging)

- Hands-on experience with Terraform / IaC

- Strong Linux and scripting skills (Bash, Python)

Good to Have :

- Kubernetes expertise (GKE)

- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

- Experience with Ansible

- Knowledge of DevOps and SRE practices

- Multi-cloud experience (AWS / Azure)
