Key Responsibilities :

- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations of DB2 LUW databases.

- Provide technical expertise for database due diligence, migration/modernization consultation, and planning activities.

- Define migration approaches, leveraging DB2 native or cloud-native migration utilities and tools.

- Conduct business impact analysis and risk assessments to minimize service disruption during migrations.

- Administer and troubleshoot DB2 LUW databases (single and multi-partition) on Linux environments.

- Manage cloud pure scale databases, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Automate DBA activities to improve efficiency and consistency.

- Mentor developers and team members to solve database-related challenges and promote skill growth.

- Establish and enforce best practices and coding standards for database administration and migration.

- Ensure database security, storage, and capacity planning, as well as backup and recovery processes.

- Design and manage High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) systems using PowerHA/TSA.

- Optimize DB2 performance, stored procedures, triggers, and application interactions.

- Plan hardware capacity requirements for storage, memory, and CPU cycles.

- Manage and administer cloud-based relational database solutions, including migration from on-premise systems.

- Use AWS DMS, AWS SCT, Azure Database Migration Service, or Google Cloud Data Migration Service for cloud migrations.

- Develop migration playbooks/runbooks, conduct POCs and POVs for new migration tools.

- Work with multiple technologies and projects of high complexity, conceptualizing the value of technology for business needs.

- Provide support during migration/transformation events and continuously improve internal processes.

- Exposure to MongoDB, Oracle, and SQL databases is desirable.

Required Skills :

- Expert-level DB2 LUW DBA skills with hands-on experience in migrations and administration.

- Proficiency in Linux and AIX environments, including OS-level concepts.

- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (IBM, AWS, Azure) for database optimization and application performance.

- Proficiency in performance tuning, stored procedure development, and trigger optimization.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional projects.

- Proficiency in automation tools for DBA tasks.

- Familiarity with MongoDB, Oracle, and SQL databases is a plus.

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Mandatory Certification: DB2 LUW Certification.

Experience :

- 810 years of experience in the IT industry with 8+ years of relevant DB2 LUW DBA experience.

- Proven track record in database migration, cloud-based solutions, and high-availability environments
