Description :
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester with strong experience in API testing, test case design, and defect management.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with testing methodologies, validating API functionalities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software releases.
Key Responsibilities :
Manual Testing :
- Perform end-to-end manual testing of web and mobile applications.
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Identify functional, usability, and compatibility issues and ensure thorough test coverage.
API Testing :
- Perform hands-on API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger, Insomnia, or REST Assured (manual).
- Validate request/response formats, status codes, JSON/XML schemas, headers, authentication methods, and business logic.
- Design and execute positive, negative, boundary, and integration test cases for APIs.
- Log, track, and verify API defects using standard defect tracking tools.
Test Documentation & Reporting :
- Prepare detailed test documentation including test cases, test results, and defect reports.
- Maintain traceability matrices to ensure all requirements are thoroughly tested.
- Provide clear and concise reporting on test execution status, risks, and issues.
Collaboration & Coordination :
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and QA leads to understand requirements and clarify functionality.
- Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and review meetings.
- Support UAT teams by providing use cases and reproducing customer-reported issues.
Quality Assurance Processes :
- Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to process improvements for better efficiency and quality.
- Stay updated with new QA trends, tools, and testing techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Technical Skills :
- 2-4 years of experience in Manual Testing with strong exposure to API testing.
- Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, Insomnia, etc.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON/XML formats.
- Experience in functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
- Knowledge of SQL for performing data validations (preferred).
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
