Straive - Java Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer - Java to join our technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting enterprise-grade software solutions that drive critical business operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role across the entire software development lifecycle from business analysis and technical design to implementation, deployment, and production support. The role requires strong technical expertise in Java-based application development, cloud technologies, system integration, software architecture, and engineering best practices.

As a senior member of the engineering organization, you will provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.

- Lead implementation of in-house developed solutions and integration of third-party/SaaS applications.

- Participate in the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including : Requirement analysis Technical design Development Testing Deployment

- Develop scalable, secure, high-performing, and cost-efficient software solutions.

- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

- Contribute to application modernization and continuous platform evolution.

- Serve as a technical lead for a portfolio of applications or specific engineering initiatives.

- Guide development teams on architecture, coding standards, and software engineering best practices.

- Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and solution design sessions.

- Provide mentorship, coaching, and knowledge-sharing opportunities for junior engineers.

- Stay current with emerging technologies, development methodologies, and secure coding practices.

- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams.

- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Build strong working relationships across technology and business functions.

- Ensure compliance with software development standards, security guidelines, and operational procedures.

- Implement robust technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture and compliance requirements.

- Drive adherence to secure application development practices and coding standards.

- Support troubleshooting, incident resolution, and 3rd-level production support activities.

- Complete mandatory compliance trainings and certifications as required.

Required Qualifications :

- Masters or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or a similar technical role.

- Proven experience leading or mentoring software development teams of 3+ engineers.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Java application development.

- Experience working within enterprise-scale or complex system environments.
