Staff Test Automation Engineer :

About the Role :

- Lead quality engineering initiatives across Voice AI and Monitoring & Analytics platforms.

- Define and drive the end-to-end test automation strategy.

- Establish quality engineering best practices and mentor engineering teams.

- Ensure scalable, reliable, and high-quality software delivery.

- Collaborate with Product, Platform, and Engineering teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Test Automation Strategy :

- Design and own the overall test automation framework and strategy.

- Define and enforce best practices for Unit, Integration, Contract, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.

- Drive architecture decisions for automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test observability.

- Establish standards for test data management, environment consistency, and test reliability.

2. Performance Testing :

- Lead performance testing initiatives, including Load, Stress, Spike, and Soak Testing.

- Define performance baselines, SLOs, and regression gates.

- Build scalable performance testing frameworks using Locust, k6, or equivalent tools.

- Analyze application performance using profiling and observability tools to identify bottlenecks.

3. Technical Leadership :

- Drive quality engineering best practices across teams.

- Mentor engineers on automation frameworks, testing strategies, and code quality.

- Collaborate with Product Managers to define acceptance criteria and quality gates.

- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive quality measures.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering with a strong focus on Test Automation.

- Proven experience defining and leading automation strategies for distributed systems.

- Expert-level proficiency in Python for automation development.

- Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end web automation.

- Strong understanding of FastAPI and Django for API and backend testing.

- Extensive experience with Performance Testing (Load, Stress, Soak, Spike Testing).

- Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud services, and event-driven systems.

- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar observability tools.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.

- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures.

- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.
