Role Overview :

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for architecting and scaling high-performance data platforms and backend services. You will collaborate with cross-functional product and engineering teams to design robust solutions that handle massive data throughput and complex algorithmic requirements. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of supply chain operations and customer-facing digital platforms, ensuring that our systems remain resilient, performant, and capable of supporting the companys rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and implement scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot to support high-traffic retail applications and backend services.

- Design and optimize complex data pipelines using Apache Spark and Kafka to ensure real-time data processing and high availability for downstream analytics.

- Lead the design of distributed systems that maintain consistency and reliability while processing petabytes of data across cloud environments.

- Develop and refine sophisticated algorithms to solve intricate business problems, improving system performance and operational efficiency.

- Mentor senior engineering talent and drive technical excellence through rigorous code reviews, design documentation, and the adoption of best-in-class engineering practices.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into modular, maintainable, and scalable technical architectures.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.

- Advanced proficiency in data engineering, specifically in designing ETL processes and leveraging Apache Spark and Kafka for high-throughput data streaming.

- Strong command of SQL and database design, with the ability to optimize queries and data structures for performance in high-load environments.

- Proven ability to design and implement complex algorithms that address scalability and latency challenges in a distributed environment.

- Extensive experience working with cloud platforms to deploy, manage, and scale enterprise-grade applications.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical strategies to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, hybrid work environment, demonstrating leadership and adaptability in a fast-paced retail technology setting.

- A minimum of 10 - 15 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably within high-scale product organizations.
