What You Will Own :

Technical Leadership :

- Lead a pod of 5 to 8 engineers across backend and frontend. Drive architecture, design decisions, and technical reviews not just approvals.

Delivery :

- Own sprint cadence, remove technical bottlenecks, and ensure timely delivery of features that enterprise customers rely on for their operations.

AI Tooling Adoption :

- Champion the use of AI coding tools across the engineering team. Measure productivity impact, evaluate outcomes, and drive informed adoption decisions.

Quality & Reliability :

- Own the team's engineering quality bar, including automated test coverage, performance benchmarks, production reliability, and rigorous RCA practices.

Mentorship :

- Conduct meaningful 1:1s and actively develop engineers. Help senior engineers grow toward Staff-level responsibilities and mid-level engineers progress toward senior roles.

Cross-Team Influence :

- Work closely with Principal Architects, Product, and Customer Success to shape the roadmap, identify technical risks, and influence important engineering decisions.

Minimum Bar :

- 8 to 14 years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years leading a team

- Deep hands-on backend experience (Java preferred; Python acceptable)

- Proven ability to design and deliver distributed, multi-tenant SaaS systems

- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases at production scale

- Demonstrable use and measurement of AI coding tools in a team context

- Strong written and verbal communication - you will interact with enterprise customers and founders

- B.E / B.Tech in CS, IS, ECE or equivalent demonstrable experience

- A fundamentally strong, unbounded problem solver - someone who sees a hard constraint and looks for a way around it, not a reason to stop

- Bonus: awareness of Operations Research techniques - linear programming, heuristics, metaheuristics, VRP variants. Not a requirement; we will teach you. But if you already think in constraints and objectives, you will love it here

- Frontend: React, Redux

- AI/ML: Familiar with embedding pipelines, RAG, and agentic frameworks is a bonus
