We are looking for an experienced and highly driven Staff Engineer to join our backend engineering team and play a critical role in shaping the architecture of globally scalable systems. This role is ideal for strong backend technologists who have deep expertise in distributed systems, platform engineering, scalability, and technical leadership.

As a Staff Engineer, you will own mission-critical backend systems handling large-scale data and high transaction volumes while driving engineering excellence across architecture, reliability, performance, and scalability.

You will work closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Data teams to build high-performance systems that power business-critical operations at scale.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own and drive one or more core backend applications end-to-end with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

- Lead the architecture, design, and development of large-scale distributed systems, frameworks, and backend platforms.

- Build scalable and maintainable microservices-based systems aligned with long-term technical strategy.

- Drive operational excellence through improvements in system reliability, observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.

- Analyze and optimize systems for latency, throughput, scalability, and efficiency.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Mentor and guide engineers while promoting a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning.

- Conduct architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews while enforcing engineering best practices.

- Drive adoption of modern technologies, frameworks, and backend engineering patterns.

- Contribute to hiring and help build high-performing engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Requirements

- 9+ years of experience in backend engineering with strong expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.

- Proven experience building large-scale, highly scalable, and high-performance distributed systems.

- Strong hands-on expertise in microservices architecture and backend platform engineering.

- Minimum 2.5+ years of experience working in roles such as SDE-3, Tech Lead, or Lead Software Engineer.

- Strong understanding of Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), System Design, Design Patterns,

and advanced problem-solving.

- Experience owning architecture and core backend/platform services rather than only feature-

level development.

- Strong expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, gRPC, concurrency, and asynchronous processing.

- Experience working with AWS and/or GCP cloud platforms.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and production engineering practices.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

- Stable career track record with at least 2 years tenure in previous organizations.

- B.Tech in Computer Science or related field from Tier 1 or Tier 2 colleges.

Preferred Background :

- Candidates from fast-scaling product companies, unicorn startups, or global technology organizations such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and similar tech-first companies.

- Strong exposure to platform engineering, backend infrastructure, and scalable architecture design.

- Proven track record of technical leadership and engineering mentorship.
