Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Engineer Backend to drive the architecture, design, and development of large-scale distributed systems. This role requires a strong technical leader who can own critical backend platforms, influence engineering best practices, mentor teams, and deliver highly scalable, reliable, and performant services.

The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, System Design, and Distributed Systems, with a proven track record of building enterprise-grade backend platforms serving millions of users and high transaction volumes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead architecture and design discussions for mission-critical backend systems.

- Drive the evolution of microservices architecture and platform modernization initiatives.

- Define engineering standards, coding guidelines, and architectural best practices.

- Design scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems.

- Review technical designs and provide architectural guidance across teams.

- Own technical roadmaps for core backend and platform services.

- Develop and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

- Design and implement RESTful APIs and gRPC-based services.

- Build reusable frameworks, libraries, and platform components.

- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Implement asynchronous and event-driven architectures where appropriate.

- Design systems capable of handling high throughput and low latency.

- Solve complex scalability, performance, and reliability challenges.

- Architect distributed systems involving caching, messaging, and service orchestration.

- Perform capacity planning and system optimization initiatives.

- Evaluate and implement design patterns and architectural principles.

- Design and optimize schemas for SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Ensure efficient query performance and database scalability.

- Implement data partitioning, replication, caching, and indexing strategies.

- Drive database performance tuning and optimization initiatives.

- Design cloud-native applications on AWS or GCP.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve deployment and monitoring strategies.

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.

- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and deployment automation best practices.

- Improve system observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting.

- Ensure application security, resiliency, and compliance standards.

- Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for production issues.

- Implement fault-tolerance, disaster recovery, and business continuity mechanisms.

- Establish reliability metrics and SLO/SLA standards.

- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on design and coding best practices.

- Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews.

- Partner with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver business outcomes.

- Drive engineering excellence and foster a culture of innovation.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 9+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience.

- Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17+.

- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring MVC, Spring Security.

- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and SOLID principles.

- Expertise in Design Patterns and enterprise application architecture.

- Strong command over Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).

- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
