About the Role :

We are looking for talented and motivated SQL/UNIX Engineers (G4 & G5 levels) with strong expertise in Oracle/SQL development and Unix/Linux shell scripting.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in enterprise environments managing large data-driven systems, automation scripts, deployment pipelines, and operational support processes.

You will play a key role in supporting, automating, and optimizing batch processes, database operations, and system workflows, while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across production and non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.

- Write and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate recurring operational tasks and batch processes.

- Support and enhance existing automation scripts to improve performance and reliability.

- Participate in the design and development of deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Git.

- Perform daily monitoring of jobs and processes using RunMyJobs (or equivalent job scheduler).

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance, job failures, and script errors.

- Ensure data integrity and system uptime through proactive monitoring and incident management.

- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to implement system changes and deployments.

- Use Jenkins to build, test, and deploy code changes in multiple environments.

- Maintain Git repositories, manage branches, and support version control best practices.

- Automate build and deployment pipelines to ensure faster and error-free releases.

- Ensure proper documentation and change tracking using Jira and Confluence.

- Analyze and fine-tune SQL queries and scripts for performance optimization.

- Monitor server performance and logs to identify potential bottlenecks or errors.

- Implement Unix commands (AWK, GREP, SED, CUT) effectively for data parsing, file management, and system monitoring.

- Optimize job scheduling, error handling, and notification mechanisms in RunMyJobs or equivalent schedulers.

- Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and delivery.

- Document processes, deployment steps, configurations, and troubleshooting guides in Confluence.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews) using Jira for task tracking.

- Provide support during production releases and post-release monitoring..

Desired Skills & Experience :

- 4 to 9 years of total experience in database operations, scripting, automation, or application support roles.

- Experience working in production support or DevOps environments.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, or data migration projects is a plus.

- Ability to collaborate effectively in global delivery environments with multiple stakeholders.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an added advantage.
