SQL Database Administrator

Job Title : SQL Database Administrator (DBA) - Support

Experience : 5 - 15 Years

Location : Greater Noida

Employment Type : Full-time

Job Responsibilities :

- Provide day-to-day support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server databases.

- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances in production and non-production environments.

- Perform database backups, recovery, migration, and restoration activities.

- Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexing/partitioning strategies.

- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning (Always On, clustering, replication, log shipping, mirroring).

- Manage user access, roles, and security policies to safeguard data.

- Automate routine tasks using scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, etc.).

- Handle incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis for database-related issues.

- Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to support business applications.

- Document database configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration (2012/2014/2016/2019/2022).

- Experience with backup & recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and replication technologies.

- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.

- Good knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and networking concepts.

- Hands-on experience in database security, auditing, and compliance.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is a plus.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have :

- Exposure to NoSQL / other RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

- Knowledge of automation frameworks / DevOps tools.

- Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server / Azure Database.
