Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Splunk Observability Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our observability platform, ensuring the health, performance, and availability of our critical applications and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to provide actionable insights and drive proactive problem resolution. Your work will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of our services, leading to improved customer experience and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement comprehensive observability solutions using Splunk Observability Suite (Splunk APM, Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring, Splunk Log Observer) to provide end-to-end visibility into application performance and infrastructure health.
- Develop and maintain data collection and ingestion pipelines using technologies like OpenTelemetry, Fluentd, and other relevant tools to ensure comprehensive data coverage.
- Build and configure dashboards, alerts, and reports in Splunk to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, anomalies, and security threats.
- Collaborate with development teams to instrument applications with appropriate metrics, traces, and logs to enable effective monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Automate observability infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using infrastructure-as-code principles to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other teams on best practices for observability, monitoring, and incident response to foster a culture of proactive problem solving.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the observability platform to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the business and leverages the latest technologies and best practices.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing observability solutions using Splunk Observability Suite (Splunk APM, Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring, Splunk Log Observer).
- Proven ability to develop and maintain data collection and ingestion pipelines using technologies like OpenTelemetry, Fluentd, and other relevant tools.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation and data manipulation.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
