Sonata Software - Talend Administator

We are seeking a highly skilled Talend Administrator to manage, optimize, and support our Talend Data Integration platform and related services. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in administering Talend environments, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, deployment management, and supporting DevOps practices. The role requires close collaboration with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Talend Platform Administration Install, configure, and maintain various Talend components including Talend Data Integration (DI), Talend Management Console (TMC), Talend Runtime, and Talend Administration Center (TAC).

- Manage and monitor Talend jobs, services, task execution, and schedules through TMC.

- Create and maintain users, groups, roles, and permissions in TMC to support secure access management.

- Ensure seamless integration between Talend and external systems such as databases, cloud services, and APIs.

- Environment Management Set up, configure, and maintain Talend environments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production.

- Manage deployments and migrations of code, artifacts, and configuration files across multiple environments.

- Monitor system performance, perform capacity planning, and ensure high availability and reliability of Talend services.

- Implement proactive health checks, service restarts, and job recovery procedures.

- Maintenance, Backup & Upgrades Manage patching, hotfix installations, and version upgrades for Talend products.

- Perform regular backup and recovery operations for Talend repositories, configuration files, and runtime environments.

- Maintain detailed documentation of environment configurations, SOPs, and installation guides.

Troubleshooting & Support :

- Diagnose and resolve performance issues, job failures, connectivity problems, and integration errors.

- Collaborate with development teams to optimize job performance and resolve system bottlenecks.

- Work with infrastructure teams to ensure proper sizing, resource allocation, and system stability.

- Act as a primary point of contact for production issues and support requests related to Talend.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration :

- Support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab/Jenkins for automated deployment of Talend artifacts.

- Assist in integrating Talend jobs with version control systems and maintain branching strategies.

- Support automated testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Security & Compliance :

- Implement access controls, encryption policies, and audit mechanisms within Talend.

- Ensure compliance with organization-wide security standards and regulatory frameworks.

- Monitor logs and alerts for security anomalies and take appropriate corrective actions.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with ETL developers, cloud engineers, DBAs, and DevOps teams.

- Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, deployment processes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 4 - 8 years of hands-on experience in Talend Administration.

- Strong knowledge of Talend DI, TMC, TAC, Talend Runtime, and Talend ESB components.

- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments for installation, shell scripting, and system monitoring.

- Experience deploying and managing Talend workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools : GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus/Artifactory.

- Strong understanding of networking, application servers, and system integrations.

- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving ETL jobs, runtime services, and external systems.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience with Talend Cloud administration. Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

- Familiarity with data governance and metadata management tools.

- Basic knowledge of ETL development concepts to support developers.
