Software Tester - Manual & Automation Testing

We are hiring a Software Tester(Manual +Automation) for one of our clients' MNCs.

Exp : 4+ years

Location : Remote

Job Type : 6 months contract + ext.

Responsibilities :

- Analyze and troubleshoot issues; assess defect severity and its impact

Automation Testing :

- Build structured test frameworks (e.g., keyword-, BDD-, modular-driven like Cucumber with Java)

- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo)

- Conduct maintenance and debugging of test suites and frameworks, adapting to new product changes

Test Strategy & Management :

- Identify and prioritize test cases for automation based on application risk and benefits

- Create and update test plans, strategies, and documentation (test cases, trace matrices, execution logs, reports)

- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps/QA teams to define acceptance criteria and ensure full coverage

- Participate in design/code reviews to improve testability and quality

Defect Tracking & Reporting :

- Log, track, and verify defects using tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, ensuring clarity and follow-up

- Generate and communicate test metricspass/fail rates, defect densities, automation overage

Mentorship & Continuous Improvement :

- Mentor junior testers, drive knowledge sharing, advocate testing best practices

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and quality

- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and methodologies such as TestOps, CI/CD testing, cloud testing

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

- 3 + years of experience in software testing encompassing both manual and automation

- Hands-on experience with automation tools and languages : Selenium, Playwright, Appium, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber, Java, Python, JavaScript

- Proficiency in API testing (Postman, RestAssured), database testing (SQL), performance tools (JMeter)

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo), version control (Git)

- Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile/Scrum

- Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.

- ISTQB or equivalent test certifications are a plus

Preferred Experience & Traits :

- Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks

- Exposure to BDD/TDD practices and frameworks (Cucumber, JUnit/TestNG)

- Cloud testing experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Performance, load, or security testing experience

- Experience with mobile app (iOS/Android) testing

- Familiarity with TestOps or structured test management
