QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in TypeScript, Playwright, and Cypress, along with exposure to Generative AI (Gen AI) and Agentic AI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks and driving quality across web and API applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain robust UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, and TypeScript.

- Create reusable, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts following Page Object Model (POM), BDD, and data-driven approaches.

- Develop comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and automation suites covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.

- Execute tests across multiple browsers and environments and analyze automation results.

- Perform API testing and validate application workflows, integrations, and backend services.

- Identify, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause analysis of automation failures and application defects.

- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts in Agile/Scrum teams to ensure effective test coverage.

- Explore and leverage Gen AI tools for test case generation, test data creation, script generation, defect analysis, and improving QA productivity.

- Work with Agentic AI concepts and AI-powered testing agents to automate repetitive QA activities and enhance intelligent test execution.

- Continuously improve automation frameworks, test coverage, execution speed, and overall testing efficiency.

- Maintain test documentation, defect reports, automation reports, and quality metrics.

Required Skills:

- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.

- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript.

- Strong expertise in Playwright automation.

- Good hands-on experience with Cypress.

- Strong understanding of UI, API, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.

- Experience developing automation frameworks using POM, BDD, Data-Driven, or Hybrid frameworks.

- Experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD tools.

- Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC/STLC.

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts and their application in software testing/QA automation.

Good to Have:

- Experience with API automation tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or Playwright API testing.

- Knowledge of SQL/database validation.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Exposure to AI/LLM-based testing tools, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted test automation.

- Experience with Docker and test execution in containerized environments.

- Experience with performance or accessibility testing.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
