Position Summary :

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Performance Testing is responsible for leading, designing, and executing performance testing strategies to ensure that software systems meet rigorous standards for speed, scalability, and reliability.

This role collaborates with development, infrastructure, and business teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring high-quality user experiences and robust system performance.

The incumbent will leverage JMETER and/or CloudTest and/or AIQ from Appvance to deliver comprehensive performance testing solutions.

Responsibilities :

- Conduct daily performance test activities for assigned area or applications.

- Employ testing criteria in the review and approval of business requirements, functional specifications, and systems design.

- Design, develop and execute performance test plans, test cases scenarios, and manual and automated test scripts as per the tools in-use.

- Provide timely and relevant communication on test findings to key stakeholders.

- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.

- Define, monitor, and report on performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and resource utilization.

- Continuously improve performance testing processes and frameworks using JMETER and/or CloudTest and/or AIQ.

- Identify and prepare the appropriate data for testing, and prepare that data for the test cases in partnership with business and technology leads.

- Monitor the integrity and accuracy of the testing strategy.

- Assess risks to quality by applying various verification and validation techniques.

- Determine the acceptable range for test results and performance.

- Monitor, update, and audit Software Testing and Quality Assurance processes.

- Participate in QA metrics/reporting and departmental support throughout the organization.

- Work with Development and the BTL/Business to mitigate defect escalations and rejections.

- Assess and revise test sequence and scope based upon test results and/or changes in product design.

- Produce documents related to test procedures, defect findings & test summary reports.

- Track and document QA issues, defects and resolution details.

- Assess product/project performance based upon test results and product specifications.

- Assist Application Developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems.

- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of products, both from a business perspective as well as a technical perspective.

- Work with Development and the BTL/Business to mitigate defect escalations and rejections.

- Approve Access Service Requests from the test environment Coordinator and ensure that test, system, tool, and application access are available to support testing.

- Develop process improvements for Software QA and SDLC processes and procedures.

- Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

- High quality, defect free software systems in production.

- Project risk assessment application performance.

- Release schedules and QA metrics.

- Performance test plans, cases, scripts, and end-of-test reports.

- Requirements analysis and test scenario development.

- Bachelors degree with extensive coursework in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

- 5+ years of progressively responsible software QA analysis experience.

- Excellent understanding of quality assurance processes and testing methodology.

- Knowledge of the entire software development process (SDLC).

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Thorough knowledge of test planning and operations.

- Demonstrated experience creating effective test plans and metrics.

- Prior experience in conducting risk assessments.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.

- Hands-on experience with JMETER and/or CloudTest and/or AIQ from Appvance.

- Ability to design and execute large-scale performance tests using JMETER and/or CloudTest and/or AIQ.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for performance issues.

- Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
