Job Duties :

- This role will test the company's reference code packages for delivery to customers as well as ARM-based platform functionality.

- Utilizing proficient knowledge of Linux and computer architecture as well as knowledge of server industry firmware initiatives such as PCIe, ACPI, UEFI, and JEDEC memory standards, the candidate will provide the first level of triage for each issue and interface with engineers to assist in reproduction and closure.

- ARM experience is preferred, but not required with a strong x86 architecture background.

- A working knowledge of test methodologies as well as some experience with automation is expected.

- A candidate with good debug methodology and some experience in scripting languages (PERL, Python, Ruby) and programming languages (C++/Assembly) would be considered above others.

- The close working relationship with other teams and nature of issue triage and logging will require the candidate to possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to work well in a team environment.

Experience and Education :

- Energetic, motivated self-starter with a thirst for knowledge and a firm commitment to schedule.

- Proficient knowledge of Linux, computer architecture required.

- ARM experience preferred.

- Knowledge of PC / server industry initiatives including PCIe, ACPI, UEFI, JEDEC.

- Working knowledge of test methodologies and, preferably, some experience with automation.

- Exposure to computer programming languages (C++, Assembly) and Scripting languages preferred (PERL, Python, Ruby).

- Experience with various industry debuggers.

- Experience with QA hardware tools oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, test fixtures.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Works well in a team environment and can operate independently.

- 0 - 2 years experience creating and executing software/firmware test plans targeting Linux, or Windows environments.

- Test methodologies and subsystems knowledge in 10/100/1G Ethernet, SATA, AHCI, DDR3, PCIe Gen1/Gen2, SPI, I2C BIOS/Firmware interfaces (UEFI/ACPI/SMBIOS).

- Optional but preferred experience in ARM, scripting and coding languages.

- Associates degree in electronics plus 1 or more years of direct experience; OR Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science plus 1 or more years of direct experience.
