Head of Software Engineering

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Head of Software Engineering to provide technical and strategic leadership for enterprise product engineering teams. The role will own architecture, design, development, quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and end-to-end delivery of one or more enterprise software products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own architecture, design, development, quality, and performance engineering for one or more enterprise software products.

- Provide technical and strategic leadership to product engineering teams and drive engineering excellence.

- Lead and own the complete software development lifecycle using Agile principles.

- Design and develop highly complex cloud-native applications, interfaces, APIs, and system integrations.

- Lead the development of enterprise platforms and application features using Microservices and Micro-Frontend architectures.

- Drive engineering solutions using Azure Cloud Services, C#/.NET Core, ReactJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and related technologies.

- Review and recommend improvements to architecture, design, code quality, development standards, and engineering practices.

- Own and be accountable for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and sustainability of enterprise platforms/products.

- Architect and develop event-driven and distributed applications using cloud-native services.

- Guide POCs and technical solution approaches, evaluating open-source, commercial, and proprietary technologies.

- Evaluate and recommend software development tools, frameworks, platforms, and engineering practices.

- Drive automation across the development lifecycle using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and MCP.

- Establish and continuously improve code quality, monitoring, performance engineering, test automation, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

- Lead container-based development and deployment using technologies such as AKS and Service Fabric.

- Drive integration with messaging and event-streaming platforms such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.

- Coach, mentor, and develop full-stack engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Quality Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, and Executive Leadership.

- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple products/solutions, including development, testing, performance testing, deployment, and production readiness.

Required Technical Skills :

- 12+ years of product/software development experience with enterprise-grade products.

- 6+ years of hands-on and strategic experience leading cloud-native product engineering teams.

- Strong expertise in C# and .NET Core.

- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and Azure DevOps.

- Strong experience in Microservices and/or Micro-Frontend architecture.

- Strong knowledge of ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript frameworks, and modern frontend development.

- Hands-on experience with containerized application development, AKS, Service Fabric, and cloud-native deployment models.

- Strong experience with messaging/event platforms such as RabbitMQ and Kafka.

- Proven experience architecting event-driven, distributed, scalable software applications.

- Strong database experience across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MS SQL Server.

- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, code quality, monitoring, and performance engineering.

- Proven experience automating software development workflows using AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and MCP.

AI & Modern Engineering :

- Experience integrating LLMs, Vector Databases, RAG, or Generative AI into production applications is preferred.

- Strong understanding of AI-assisted software development and AI-DevSecOps principles.

- Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability to enterprise products.

- Experience conducting technical POCs and translating emerging technologies into scalable production solutions.

Leadership & Collaboration :

- Proven experience leading and mentoring one or more teams of full-stack engineers.

- Strong ability to coach, guide, and enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.

- Experience working effectively with Product Management, Quality Engineering, Architecture, and Executive Leadership.

- Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to remain technically hands-on where required.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.

Preferred :

- Experience with LLM integration, RAG architectures, vector databases, and GenAI applications.

- Experience building large-scale enterprise SaaS/cloud platforms.

- Strong understanding of security, observability, reliability engineering, and sustainable software development.

- Experience owning multiple products and engineering teams in a fast-paced product organization
