Job Description

Position Overview :

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with 4-6 years of experience in Fortran programming and complex SQL queries, preferably in an OpenVMS environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in legacy system maintenance and modernization, as well as the flexibility to cross-skill into Java technologies. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities to collaborate across IT and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Work on mission-critical systems developed using customized Fortran and Java technologies.

- Perform application-level performance analysis and tuning for Fortran-based applications.

- Maintain and enhance existing applications in OpenVMS and other environments.

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and accuracy.

- Identify application bottlenecks and bugs, and provide effective solutions.

- Proactively monitor systems to identify failures and implement preventive actions.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business, IT, and other supporting services.

- Maintain thorough documentation for code, configurations, and processes.

- Drive and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the application landscape.

- Assist in maintaining code quality and promoting automation opportunities.

Technical Skills Required :


- 4-6 years of hands-on experience with Fortran programming, including customized/legacy implementations.

- Strong experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.

- Proficiency in OpenVMS operating system environments.

- Familiarity or willingness to cross-skill in Java technology stacks.

- Experience with application performance tuning and profiling.

- Strong understanding of code quality, debugging, and automation best practices.
