Software Engineer - Finance Transformation Platform

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer - Finance Transformation Platform to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable platforms and applications that drive finance transformation initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend engineering, platform development, API design, workflow automation, and data pipeline development. You will work closely with finance, product, operations, and engineering teams to build innovative solutions that streamline reconciliation processes, improve operational efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

Platform Development & System Design :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable internal platforms that support finance transformation initiatives.

- Architect and implement robust, secure, and high-performance software solutions.

- Build enterprise-grade systems that can handle large volumes of financial and operational data.

- Drive technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.

Backend Engineering & API Development

- Design and develop scalable backend services and microservices.

- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations to support finance and business applications.

- Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability of backend systems.

- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.

Workflow Automation & Reconciliation:

- Develop automation solutions to streamline reconciliation and finance operations.

- Build intelligent workflows that reduce manual intervention and improve process accuracy.

- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive business processes and improve operational efficiency.

- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand business challenges and deliver effective solutions.

Data Engineering & Pipelines:

- Design and implement scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, transformation, and reporting.

- Develop workflows for integrating data across multiple systems and platforms.

- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and availability across applications.

- Support analytics and reporting initiatives through efficient data architecture.

User-Facing Tools & Internal Applications:

- Build intuitive user-facing tools and dashboards that improve business productivity.

- Develop internal applications that simplify finance operations and enhance visibility into key metrics.

- Work closely with product and business teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

Collaboration & Leadership:

- Partner with finance, operations, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions.

- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

- Maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, backend development, platform engineering, or related fields.

- Strong experience in designing and building scalable enterprise applications.

- Expertise in backend development using technologies such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or similar.

- Strong experience in API design and development (RESTful APIs, microservices architecture).

- Hands-on experience building workflow automation solutions and business process orchestration.

- Experience designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

- Strong knowledge of SQL, databases, and data modeling concepts.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and scalable platform design.

- Strong understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and engineering best practices.

- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
