Software Engineer - Data Modeling

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer (Premium/Emerging 3 level) with 6- 9 years of experience in advanced data modeling and SQL development.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in relational, dimensional, and analytical data models, coupled with deep knowledge of metadata management, semantic modeling, and enterprise data architecture.

This role requires working on large-scale, global data platforms while driving data modeling standards, governance, and best practices across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and optimize data models for OLTP and OLAP systems.

- Develop and manage robust SQL scripts to support enterprise data platforms.

- Collaborate with business and technology teams to ensure effective metadata management and semantic modeling.

- Implement and enforce data governance practices using tools like Alation and Collibra.

- Contribute to data warehousing strategies, including history handling, transformations, and integration with large datasets.

- Document processes, standards, and best practices to support scalable enterprise data architecture.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members when required.

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong expertise in Data Modeling (OLTP & OLAP systems).

- Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Teradata.

- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER Studio).

- Knowledge of Metadata Management & Semantic Modeling.

- Familiarity with Data Governance tools (Alation, Collibra).

- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, history handling, and transformations.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Python programming.

- Experience with Informatica.

- Exposure to data cataloging, lineage, and governance frameworks.

- Understanding of multi-fact modeling and complex enterprise data architecture
