Job Description

Responsibilities :


- Team Leadership : Build, manage, and mentor the frontend engineering team. Drive hiring strategy, establish engineering excellence, and foster innovation culture.


- Technical Architecture : Architect and oversee implementation of scalable frontend systems for our established product suite, including customer-facing interfaces (web/mobile apps), partner consoles, and advanced backend integrations.


- Product Development : Lead the development of new features and products for our market-leading platform, ensuring optimal customer experience and continued market leadership.


- Strategic Planning : Make critical technical decisions to support our scale and growth trajectory while implementing solutions that handle increasing user volumes and product complexity.


- Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences across all touchpoints.


- Performance and Quality : Establish engineering standards, code review processes, and quality assurance practices. Drive performance optimisation and maintain high availability systems.


- Innovation : Stay ahead of frontend technology trends and evaluate new tools/frameworks to maintain a competitive advantage.


Requirements :


- 6-8+ years of frontend development experience with 3-5+ years in engineering management/leadership roles.


- Expert-level proficiency in modern frontend technologies : React.js/Next.js (production-scale applications), React Native (cross-platform mobile development).


- TypeScript/JavaScript (advanced concepts) Modern CSS frameworks and preprocessors State management libraries (Redux, Zustand, etc.)


- Full-stack understanding with knowledge of Node.js, Express.js, APIs, and database technologies.


- Deep expertise in web protocols (HTTP, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets).


- Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, testing frameworks, monitoring, and deployment strategies.


Leadership & Scale :


- Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams (10-20+ engineers) in growth-stage companies.


- Experience with established platforms serving large user bases and handling significant transaction volumes.


- Strong hiring and mentoring capabilities with experience scaling teams in competitive tech markets.


- Data-driven approach to technical decision making, performance optimisation, and team productivity.


- Experience with mature engineering practices, including advanced CI/CD, monitoring, incident management, and compliance requirements.


Growth-Stage Company Experience :


- Growth-stage startup or scale-up experience preferred, with ability to work in fast-paced, scaling environments.


- Product mindset with focus on customer experience, business metrics, and market leadership.


- Self-driven and results-oriented with the ability to drive initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs.


- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and senior stakeholder management.


- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical field


- Fintech or financial services experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
