Software Development Engineer - Test - Selenium

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 47 years of hands-on experience in test automation, framework development, and API testing. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills in Java, solid experience with Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, and a good understanding of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions. Experience in cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Docker) will be an added advantage.

Location : Bengaluru or Bangalore (5 Days Work from Office)

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit/TestNG, and REST Assured.

- Create and execute automated test cases for web, mobile, and API applications.

- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

- Perform API testing using REST Assured and Postman to validate service integrations.

- Work with Docker and AWS environments for test execution and validation.

- Analyze test failures, debug issues, and work with developers to resolve problems quickly.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) and

contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4 - 7 years of experience in Automation Testing / SDET role.

- Strong programming knowledge in Java and JavaScript.

- Expertise in API testing tools like REST Assured and Postman.

- Solid understanding of test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber.

- Experience with automation design patterns like Page Object Model (POM) and Service Object

Model.

- Proficient in using CI/CD tools : Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.

- Familiarity with build tools : Maven, Gradle.

- Good working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control systems.

- Experience in database testing using SQL and tools like MySQL.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and containerization using Docker.

- Basic understanding of performance testing using JMeter is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in banking, finance, or enterprise applications is desirable.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a sprint-based environment.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
