Software Development Engineer - Test/Automation Engineer

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with deep expertise in API and UI automation, strong proficiency in Java, and hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automation strategies to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured.

- Build and enhance UI automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, or Cucumber.

- Create comprehensive automation test plans, test cases, and test execution strategies.

- Develop and execute high-quality automation scripts for API and UI validation.

- Perform end-to-end API testing using tools such as Postman, Karate, and Rest Assured.

- Work with microservices-based architectures, ensuring validation of service integrations.

- Ensure robust unit test coverage and contribute to code reviews.

- Analyze and interpret business requirements to determine appropriate testing strategies.

- Investigate and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

- Work with COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) applications where applicable.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support continuous integration and delivery.

Required Skills

- Strong expertise in Java for automation development.

- Hands-on experience with :

1. Rest Assured

2. Selenium

3. Cypress

4. Cucumber

5. Karate (optional but preferred)

6. Postman

Good To Have :

- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and other scripting languages is an added advantage.

- Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch.

- Good understanding of microservices and API architecture.

- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Experience working in Agile environments.
