Software Development Engineer - Test

Role Summary :

We are looking for a hands-on SDET with strong foundations in manual testing and automation to design, build, and maintain scalable test solutions. The ideal candidate will combine analytical thinking, solid programming skills, and a strong ownership mindset to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze requirements and define comprehensive test scenarios and test cases

- Perform manual testing across functional, regression, and exploratory testing

- Design, develop, and maintain API automation frameworks using Java, RestAssured, and TestNG

- Develop and maintain UI automation tests using Playwright with TypeScript

- Execute automated test suites and analyze results

- Validate APIs, backend logic, and integrations

- Write and execute database queries (MongoDB / SQL / PostgreSQL) for data validation

- Debug issues and collaborate closely with developers and product teams

- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines

- Take ownership of test frameworks, test quality, and release readiness

- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and tooling

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4 to 5 years of experience in manual and automation testing

- Strong experience in requirement analysis, test planning, and test case design

- Solid understanding of API testing fundamentals

- Hands-on experience with Java-based API automation :

a. RestAssured

b. TestNG

- Experience with Playwright + TypeScript for UI automation

- Good understanding of test automation framework design

- Experience working with databases :

a. MongoDB

b. SQL / PostgreSQL

- Ability to write and execute queries for validation and debugging

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

- Ownership mindset with strong collaboration abilities

- Basic understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA)

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience with performance or security testing

- Exposure to cloud-based testing environments

- Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker)
