Job Summary :

Recur Club is looking for a technically proficient SDET 2 to join our engineering team in Gurgaon. As an SDET 2, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our fintech platform by building robust automated testing solutions from the ground up. You will work across the entire stack - validating complex financial logic in backend APIs and ensuring a seamless user experience on our frontend applications. This role requires a "quality-first" mindset and the ability to write high-quality, maintainable code for automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Framework Development and Maintenance : Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test suites for both backend RESTful APIs and modern frontend web applications.

- Full-Stack Automation : Build and enhance custom automation frameworks across backend (API) and UI layers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

- End-to-End Testing Execution : Lead functional, regression, integration, and E2E testing cycles for every product release to maintain zero-defect production environments.

- Requirement Analysis and Collaboration : Partner closely with developers and product managers to deep-dive into technical architecture, user stories, and edge cases for effective test design.

- CI/CD Integration : Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and manage quality gates to prevent regressions in the deployment cycle.

- Production Debugging : Collaborate with the engineering team to debug and troubleshoot complex issues in staging and production environments using logs and monitoring tools.

- Documentation and Planning : Create detailed, technical test plans, comprehensive test cases, and insightful test reports to keep stakeholders informed of quality metrics.

- Continuous Improvement : Proactively identify bottlenecks in the testing process and implement strategies to improve test efficiency, reliability, and execution speed.

- Code Quality : Participate in peer code reviews for automation scripts to ensure they follow best practices and architectural standards.

Required Technical Skills :

- Programming Proficiency : Strong coding skills in at least one object-oriented or functional language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

- API Testing : Hands-on experience with API automation tools and libraries like RestAssured, Pytest, or Supertest, along with proficiency in Postman/Insomnia.

- UI Automation : Proven experience with modern UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.

- Database Knowledge : Solid understanding of SQL for data validation and verifying backend state changes.

- Version Control : Proficiency with Git (branching, merging, pull requests) for managing automation codebases.

- Mobile Testing (Nice to Have) : Experience with mobile automation using Appium for Android or iOS platforms.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications :

- Performance Testing : Experience with performance and load testing tools like JMeter or k6 to simulate high-traffic fintech workloads.

- Fintech Domain Knowledge : Understanding of financial systems, credit risk platforms, or payment gateway integrations.

- Containerization : Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for managing test environments and localized testing.

- Cloud Infrastructure : Basic experience with AWS or GCP services, particularly for serverless functions or cloud-based database instances.

- Security Testing : Basic understanding of OWASP Top 10 and security testing principles for web applications.
