Software Development Engineer II - Java Backend Services

Description :

- Hands-on Software Development Engineer II profile aligned to support strategic document modernization and onboarding transformation initiatives. The role will focus on building scalable applications, backend services, and automation workflows to improve document maintenance efficiency, reduce manual engineering effort, and accelerate onboarding change cycles.

Key Responsibilities :

- Understand current onboarding document workflows and change processes

- Build internal web applications for document configuration and maintenance

- Develop backend services and APIs supporting document automation flows

- Work on YAML / XML / metadata-driven template generation processes

- Integrate with internal systems, repositories, and databases

- Support testing, release cycles, and production stabilisation activities

- Collaborate with business, operations, and engineering stakeholders

Core Skill Requirements :

- Strong DSA Skills

- Strong backend development experience in Java / Spring Boot

- API development and system integration experience

- SQL / database fundamentals

- Git / SDLC / release management understanding

- Strong debugging and problem-solving capability

Additional Skill Requirements ( Not Mandatory, but good to have) :

- Strong JavaScript fundamentals

- Experience in modern frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks)

- UI Development ( React Experience)

Preferred Experience :

- MongoDB / NoSQL databases

- YAML / XML processing

- Workflow automation tools

- Legacy modernisation programs

- Financial services/onboarding domain exposure

- Experience with AI is an added advantage

Candidate Profile :

- 3-6 years of hands-on engineering experience

- Strong ownership mindset

- Ability to work across frontend and backend layers

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills

- Comfortable operating in fast-paced enterprise environments
