Software Development Engineer

Description :

You will be a key technical leader responsible for defining and implementing DevOps strategies, tools, and best practices within the organisation. You will work closely with software development, QA, and IT operations teams to ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality software products and services. Your role is essential in optimising development workflows, automating processes, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers and teams.

- Collaborate with senior management to align DevOps initiatives with business goals.

- Design and implement automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning, configuration

management, and deployment.

- Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.

- Continuously improve and optimise CI/CD pipelines.

- Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication between development and

operations teams.

- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project status, issues, and improvements.

- Act as a bridge between technical teams, translating requirements and needs.

- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the availability and performance of applications and systems.

- Identify bottlenecks and optimise system performance, scalability, and reliability.

- Collaborate with security teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the

DevOps processes.

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

- Evaluate, implement, and manage DevOps tools and technologies, such as CI/CD pipelines,

version control systems, containerization, and orchestration platforms.

- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

- Create and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and best practices.

- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and training to empower team members.

Requirements :

- Extensive experience (usually 3+ years) in software development, IT operations, or DevOps

roles.

- Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e. g., Python, Shell).

- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e. g., Docker, ECS, Kubernetes).

- Expertise in CI/CD tools (e. g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e. g., AWS).

- Solid understanding of API Gateways (e. g., Kong).
