Role: Snowflake Platform Administrator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Platform Administrator to join our dynamic data engineering and cloud platform team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production landscapes. This role requires hands-on expertise in Snowflake administration, Snowflake Cortex, data governance, security implementation, and environment automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Administration & Operations:

- Manage, configure, and maintain Snowflake environments across Dev/Test/Prod landscapes.

- Evaluate new Snowflake features and perform PoC/PoV to assess implementation feasibility.

- Support and administer Snowflake Cortex capabilities.

Performance Optimization & Monitoring:

- Monitor platform performance, warehouse usage, storage consumption, and compute efficiency.

- Troubleshoot long-running or high-cost queries and apply optimization strategies.

- Configure clustering, caching, and scaling mechanisms for enhanced performance and cost optimization.

Security, Governance & Compliance:

- Administer user access, RBAC roles, and warehouse permissions.

- Implement security controls including SSO, MFA, data masking, encryption, and key-based authentication.

- Ensure adherence to enterprise governance guidelines and compliance frameworks.

Platform Upgrades & Releases:

- Execute scheduled patching, release upgrades, and performance tuning with minimal downtime.

- Support sandbox testing, deployment validation, and ensure rollback and recovery plans are in place.

Reporting, ITSM & Documentation:

- Manage incidents, service requests, and platform changes following ITSM best practices.

- Prepare operational dashboards, usage reports, capacity forecasts, and cost optimization reports.

- Maintain platform documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong hands-on experience in Snowflake Administration & Snowflake Cortex

- Expertise in Query Optimization, Warehouse Tuning, Access Controls, and Security Frameworks

- Solid understanding of Cloud Authentication, IAM, and Enterprise Data Governance Models

- Experience working with ETL/ELT data pipelines, cost governance, and platform automation

- Familiarity with SSO, MFA, API-driven automation, and Snowflake utilities

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

- SnowPro Certification (Admin / Advanced Architect)

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, or DataOps automation

- Experience with FinOps or cloud cost optimization models
