Snowflake Data Engineer - ETL

Responsibilities :.

- Participate in the design, development, and execution of data migration strategies from SQL Server to Snowflake..

- Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, dbt, or custom scripts..

- Convert complex T-SQL logic and stored procedures into Snowflake-compatible SQL or ELT workflows..

- Ensure data quality, validation, and consistency throughout the migration process..

- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business teams to understand requirements and ensure a smooth transition..

- Monitor Snowflake performance, optimize queries, and manage warehouse resources effectively..

- Follow best practices in data security, governance, and compliance..

- Contribute to technical documentation, including process flows, data mappings, and operational runbooks..

- Programming experience with Python, PySpark, Shell scripting, and SQL is mandatory..

Must Have Skills :.

- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or similar IT roles..

- Practical, hands-on experience with Snowflake (at least 2+ year)..

- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL and stored procedure development..

- Strong understanding of metadata-driven approaches and data governance principles..

- Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and workflows in cloud environments (preferably Azure)..

- Good understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT, and dimensional modeling..

- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing performance..

- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is a plus..

- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools..

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment..

- Good verbal and written communication skills..

Good to Have :.

- Experience with DBT, Azure Data Factory, or similar modern data tools..

- Snowflake cloud platform certifications..

- Exposure to data governance tools, data catalogs, or monitoring platforms..

- Prior experience working in Agile or DevOps environments..

Education :.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
