Responsibilities :
- Design, document, and implement test automation frameworks and strategies for new systems, enhancements, and modifications.
- Define and implement QA architecture, ensuring test solutions are scalable, maintainable, and reusable across products.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define quality requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Develop test strategy and specifications, and lead automation implementation across functional, regression, API, and performance testing.
- Architect and own CI/CD test integration, ensuring automated tests run reliably within build/deploy pipelines.
- Establish release governance frameworks, including risk-based validation, release readiness gates, and production sign-off for critical releases.
- Drive test coverage, quality metrics, and defect trends, and report on product quality health to leadership through executive-level dashboards.
- Evaluate and implement automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) suited to the tech stack.
- Explore and implement GenAI/AI-driven testing approaches (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, self-healing automation, intelligent impact analysis) to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Design and validate testing strategies for event-driven and asynchronous systems (message queues, caching layers, distributed services).
- Lead security-focused testing, including vulnerability assessments aligned with OWASP standards.
- Integrate observability tooling into quality pipelines to support real-time monitoring and quality gates.
- Stay current with QA/automation industry trends and emerging tools, recommending adoption where relevant.
- Mentor and train QA engineers, and define organisation-wide automation standards and best practices.
Requirements :
- 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with a strong focus on test automation architecture and strategy.
- Proven experience designing and scaling automation frameworks from scratch (UI, API, and/or mobile).
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools : Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
- Experience with API testing/automation tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar, and RESTful web services.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming for test automation : JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or similar.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
- Experience with performance/load testing tools (JMeter, k6 Gatling) is a plus.
- Good command of cloud infrastructure AWS (preferred), MS Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, HP ALM/QC, or TestRail.
- Exposure to testing event-driven/asynchronous systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and NoSQL data layers is a plus.
- Working knowledge of security/penetration testing practices (OWASP Top 10 tools like Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP) is a plus.
- Experience with observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) for quality monitoring is a plus.
- Exposure to GenAI-driven testing or AI-agent-based automation (e.g., RAG-based test intelligence, self-healing frameworks) is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture principles, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience working closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Development teams.
- Ability to mentor and train QA engineers at scale, and define organisation-wide automation standards.
- Strong vision and ability to deliver quickly in a fast-paced start-up culture.
