Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Location : Mumbai/Pune/Goa

Responsibilities :

Cloud Infrastructure Management :

1. Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.

2. Ensure system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.

Cost Control & Monitoring :

1. Monitor actual costs against budgeted figures and analyze variances.

2. Implement cost control measures to minimize financial risks.

Database Administration :

1. Configure, optimize, and maintain databases (e.g., Amazon RDS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MySQL).

2. Perform regular database patching and upgrades.

Automation & Scripting :

1. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.

2. Deploy and Manage multiple environments with IaC.

3. Perform regular upgrades with IaC.

Security & Compliance :

1. Implement best security practices, including IAM, VPC security, and encryption standards.

2. Maintain health score on Security Hub and AWS Control Tower.

3. Perform regular security reviews and manage audits.

Monitoring & Performance Tuning :

1. Set up monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, APM) and optimize database performance.

2. Optimize and set up alerts and Grafana dashboards.

3. Event based automation on alerts.

Backup & Disaster Recovery :

1. Develop and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high-availability architectures.

2. Perform regular backup testing and DR drills.

CI/CD & DevOps :

1. Work with DevOps pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton and ArgoCD.

Troubleshooting & Support :

1. Diagnose and resolve complex cloud and database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

2. Uphold SLA.

Collaboration :

1. Work closely with development teams to streamline software delivery and operations.

2. Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, providing effective solutions and workarounds.

Mentoring & Leadership :

1. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

2. Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to strategic planning.

3. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in System Engineering.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

- 6+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and database management.

- Expertise in AWS services : EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route 53, etc.

- Strong experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases.

- Proficiency in scripting languages : Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.

- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- Familiarity with logging & monitoring tools like ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
