Role Overview :

The role requires strong expertise in automation architecture, Python-based test frameworks, API testing, UI testing, cloud testing, performance, integration, and CI/CD. The candidate will provide technical leadership to QA/SDET teams and drive quality engineering practices across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and drive the overall automation and quality engineering strategy.

- Design scalable and maintainable automation frameworks using Python.

- Develop automated test suites covering UI, API, integration, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.

- Build and maintain automated testing solutions for React.js-based web applications.

- Design comprehensive API automation and service-level testing frameworks.

- Develop automated validation for backend services, databases, and distributed systems.

- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

- Design and execute testing strategies for applications deployed on AWS.

- Validate AWS-based application components, integrations, scalability, and reliability.

- Develop test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and reliability requirements.

- Lead test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, and release validation.

- Establish quality gates and automated validation mechanisms across development pipelines.

- Perform root-cause analysis of complex defects and work closely with developers to resolve issues.

- Conduct code and automation framework reviews to ensure maintainability and reliability.

- Define test data management, environment strategy, and test execution standards.

- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, execution speed, and automation efficiency.

- Mentor SDETs and QA engineers and establish best practices across the team.

- Collaborate with software architects, developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and engineering leadership.

- Monitor quality metrics and provide actionable insights to engineering stakeholders.

Required Skills :

- 12 to 16 years of experience in Software Development in Test, Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Engineering.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python programming.

- Extensive experience designing and developing automation frameworks.

- Strong experience with UI automation for React.js applications.

- Strong experience with API automation and RESTful services.

- Extensive experience with AWS-based applications and cloud testing.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, databases, and web technologies.

- Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines.

- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality engineering practices.

- Experience with functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, performance, and API testing.

- Strong experience with defect management, root-cause analysis, and quality metrics.

- Excellent understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.

- Strong technical leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with tools/frameworks such as PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.

- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, and API Gateway.

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or similar.

- Experience with Git and CI/CD platforms.

- Exposure to test automation using AI-assisted testing approaches.

- Experience designing enterprise-scale quality engineering platforms and automation frameworks.
