Simple Logic - PL-SQL Developer - Database Design

We are looking for an experienced PL/SQL Developer Team Lead with strong expertise in SQL and database management to lead a high-performing database team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PL/SQL development, strong exposure to MIS reporting, and a solid understanding of the Life Insurance business lifecycle. This role combines technical leadership, solution ownership, and stakeholder collaboration in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical & Development Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain complex PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and views. Write high-performance SQL queries for large transactional and reporting databases.

- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance across all database operations.

- Support application development teams with database design, tuning, and issue resolution.

- Handle database troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.

MIS Reporting & Data Management :

- Develop and maintain MIS reports, dashboards, and data extracts for business and regulatory needs.

- Work closely with business users to understand reporting requirements and deliver accurate outputs.

- Ensure timely delivery of operational, management, and compliance reports.

- Support audits and regulatory reporting as required in the Life Insurance domain.

Leadership & Management :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of PL/SQL developers and database analysts.

- Assign tasks, review deliverables, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

- Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in SQL and PL/SQL development.

- Support team capacity planning and performance management.

Documentation & Stakeholder Management :

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and process documents.

- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders on requirements, timelines, and risks.

- Coordinate with business, QA, and IT teams for smooth delivery and production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Mandatory Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL development.

- Expertise in Database Management Systems (Oracle preferred).

- Strong experience in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

- Experience in developing and supporting MIS reports.

- Solid understanding of Life Insurance systems and processes.

Domain & Industry Knowledge :

- Proven experience working in the Life Insurance industry.

- Familiarity with insurance data models and regulatory reporting requirements.

- Experience working in South Asia insurance environments is a plus.
