Role : Linux System Administration
- Disk partitioning and storage management : Standard partitions LVM (Logical Volume Manager) Storage LUN management
- Package management : RPM installation, upgrades, and dependency resolution YUM repository setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Linux system monitoring : CPU and memory utilization Disk and I/O performance Identification of top resource-consuming processes
- Strong understanding of the Linux boot process OS-level troubleshooting for performance, availability, and stability issues Regular Linux server health checks and preventive maintenance
- Networking & OS-Level Troubleshooting : IP configuration, routing, and connectivity DNS resolution issues
- Firewall and port-related troubleshooting : Understanding of Linux networking concepts and tools Application Server Administration
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting one or more of the following : WebLogic JBoss Apache Tomcat WebSphere Or equivalent enterprise application servers Application deployment and runtime issue support
- Load Balancing & High Availability : Working knowledge of hardware and software load balancers
- Understanding of high-availability, failover, and traffic distribution concepts Backup, Monitoring & Logs
- Backup management and restoration procedures Log monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Experience with monitoring tools and alerting mechanisms
- Security & Compliance : Linux server hardening best practices Patch management and vulnerability remediation
- User and access control management : Security compliance standards and audit readiness
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers in production and non-production environments
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, and system tuning
- Monitor server performance and ensure high availability Troubleshoot OS, application, and network-related issues
- Support application servers and related middleware components Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures Ensure system security, hardening, and compliance
- Perform root cause analysis and provide permanent fixes Work closely with application, network, and security teams
- Provide L2/L3 support as per operational requirements
Preferred Skills : (Nice to Have)
- Experience in ITIL-based support environments
- Exposure to automation or scripting (Shell, Python basic)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is an advantage
