Job Summary :

Simnovus is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with 10 years of experience in wireless protocol testing (4G/5G).

The ideal candidate should have expertise in quality assurance methodologies, automation scripting (Python), and wireless network testing.

The role involves designing, implementing, and executing test cases to validate the performance, functionality, and reliability of wireless communication protocols.

Role & Responsibilities :


Wireless Protocol Testing :


- Validate 4G LTE and 5G NR network protocols across different layers (RRC, NAS, MAC, PHY, etc.

- Analyse and debug logs using protocol analyzers like Wireshark, QXDM, or Accuver XCAL.

- Perform call flow verification, mobility tests, and throughput analysis.

Quality Assurance & Test Automation :

- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for wireless network testing.

- Implement Python-based automation for test case execution, log parsing, and result validation.

- Work closely with development teams to identify, track, and resolve defects.

Network and Performance Testing :

- Conduct functional, performance, and regression testing on wireless systems.

- Test eNB/gNB behavior, handovers, and interoperability across different vendors.

- Ensure compliance with 3GPP specifications for 4G/5G networks.

Collaboration & Reporting :

- Collaborate with R&D, DevOps, and QA teams to improve test coverage.

- Generate detailed test reports, KPIs, and quality metrics for stakeholders.

- Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning and bug triaging.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Expertise :

- 7- 10 years of experience in QA/testing of wireless networks (4G LTE, 5G NR).

- Strong understanding of wireless communication protocols (RRC, NAS, MAC, PHY).

- Exposure to microservices based product validation which involves verifying the performance of the containers.

- Hands-on experience with protocol analyzers (Wireshark, QXDM, Spirent, Simnovus, Keysight, Anritsu, etc.)

- Knowledge of 3GPP standards for LTE/5G and network troubleshooting.

Scripting & Automation :

- Proficiency in Python for test automation and log analysis.

- Experience with automation frameworks like Robot Framework, PyTest, or Selenium is a plus.

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, and Docker for automated testing.

Networking & RF Testing :

- Basic networking knowledge of TCP/IP.

- Understanding of wireless network architectures (5G SA/NSA, LTE Core, VoNR, VoLTE, etc.

- Experience in RF testing, spectrum analysis, and drive testing tools.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and debugging skills for identifying protocol-level issues.

- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

- Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting test results.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have) :

- Experience with NTN (Non-Terrestrial Networks) testing in 5G.

- Knowledge of AI/ML-driven test automation for wireless networks.

- Hands-on with cloud-based 5G testing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
