Job Title : Tech Lead - MERN Stack

Experience : 8+ years

Location : Ahmedabad, Gujarat WFO

We are looking for a hands-on MERN Tech Lead who can lead a pod of 4-5 engineers while actively contributing to production code.

Key Responsibilities :

- Hands-on Engineering (Primary Expectation) :

i. Contribute 50-60% hands-on coding across React, Node.js, and MongoDB or PostgreSQL

ii. Design and implement scalable, maintainable full-stack solutions

iii. Write clean, testable, production-grade code and enforce code quality via reviews

iv. Troubleshoot complex production issues and performance bottlenecks

- Pod Leadership (4-5 Engineers) :

i. Lead a small team of engineers with clear ownership of delivery

ii. Drive sprint planning, task breakdown, and technical execution

iii. Mentor team members and elevate overall code quality and productivity

iv. Ensure adherence to coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 8+ years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development (MERN)

- Strong hands-on expertise in:

i. React.js / Next.js

ii. Node.js (Express.js or NestJS)

iii. MongoDB and PostgreSQL (schema design, performance tuning)

- Solid understanding of system design, API architecture, and scalability

- Proven experience leading small teams (4-6 engineers) while coding actively

- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments

- Experience working directly with clients in requirement gathering and delivery

- Knowledge of state management (Redux, React Query, etc.)

- Familiarity with CI/CD, cloud deployments (AWS preferred), and DevOps basics

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with GraphQL and modern API design patterns

- Exposure to microservices and modular architectures

- Experience with Next.js SSR/SSG and performance optimization

- Familiarity with NX monorepos or similar tooling

- Experience in multi-tenant SaaS applications

- Hands-on with Redis, caching strategies, or messaging queues

- Experience contributing to pre-sales, POCs, or technical proposals
