About the role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Lead with 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, solid understanding of QA principles, and proven experience working with US-based clients and distributed teams.

The primary focus of this role is to reduce the existing automation backlog and significantly increase automation coverage and execution speed. The role will also be responsible for bringing in industry best practices, driving automation strategy, improving test efficiency, and collaborating closely with US stakeholders while mentoring QA engineers.

Skills and qualifications (mandatory) :

Automation Strategy & Leadership :

- Define and drive automation strategy, roadmap, and best practices

- Bring in industry best practices for automation, QA processes, and test design

- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks

- Leverage AI agents and AI-assisted tools to improve automation efficiency and coverage

- Establish and continuously improve QA processes and quality standards

Framework Development, Execution & Backlog Reduction :

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and backend systems

- Prioritize and automate existing manual regression backlog

- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, and integration areas

CI/CD, Metrics & Leadership :

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab)

- Define and track automation metrics (coverage, execution rates, defect leakage, release quality)

- Mentor QA engineers and conduct code reviews for automation scripts

- Collaborate with DevOps and US-based stakeholders for smooth delivery

Skills and qualifications (preferred) :

- 8+ years of QA experience with strong automation expertise

- Proven experience working with US-based clients/stakeholders

- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium

- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript

- Ability to design and build scalable automation frameworks from scratch

- Experience in creating automation dashboards and reporting metrics

- Experience using AI agents or AI-assisted testing tools to improve QA productivity

- Strong experience in API testing (REST/SOAP) using Postman or Rest Assured

- CI/CD integration experience (Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab)

- SQL/database testing and Git version control

- Experience with AWS or Azure

- Strong communication and leadership skills
