About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer with deep expertise in RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Ubuntu environments.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, securing, and optimizing Linux-based systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.

You will work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to support mission-critical systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/Ubuntu) across development, staging, and production environments.

- Perform regular system administration tasks including patching, upgrades, user management, and backup operations.

- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to OS, network, hardware, and security.

- Implement and manage security policies, system hardening, access controls, and audit compliance.

- Create and maintain shell scripts (Bash/Python) for automation of routine tasks, system monitoring, and process optimization.

- Manage file systems, storage, RAID configurations, LVM, NFS, SMB, and disk provisioning.

- Work with networking components such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, firewall rules, and load balancers.

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness, including failover configurations and backup validations.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and virtualization technologies.

- Maintain documentation including SOPs, architecture diagrams, troubleshooting guides, and system inventories.

- Support incident, problem, and change management processes as part of IT operations.

- Participate in on-call rotation for critical production environments.

Requirements and Skills :

Technical Skills :

- 36 years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator or Linux Engineer.

- Strong expertise with RHEL and Ubuntu operating systems.

Deep understanding of :

- System installation, configuration, and tuning

- Package managers (yum/dnf, apt)

- File systems (ext4, XFS), LVM, RAID

- Systemd services

- Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python preferred).

- Good knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, VLANs.

- Expertise in user/group management, permissions, sudo policies, and security best practices.

- Familiarity with virtualization and container technologies such as VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes.

- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.

- Understanding of CI/CD tools and automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
