Description :
Job Title : Shopify Developer Asterlane & Shyam Ahuja.
Location : Jaipur (On-site / Hybrid).
Function : D2C & eCommerce Jaipur Rugs Group.
About the Brands :
Asterlane is our contemporary, value-driven machine-made rug brand focused on global shoppers.
Shyam Ahuja is our heritage luxury rug brand with a strong focus on craftsmanship, storytelling, and premium experiences.
Both brands are being scaled on Shopify / Shopify Plus, and we are looking for a mid-level Shopify Developer (35 years) to help us build high-performing, premium storefronts.
Role Overview :
As a Shopify Developer for Asterlane and Shyam Ahuja, you will be responsible for implementing, customizing and maintaining our Shopify stores end-to-end.
You will work closely with Product, Design and Marketing to translate Figma designs and business requirements into fast, stable and conversion-focused experiences.
Key Responsibilities :
Theme & Frontend Development :
- Develop, customize and maintain Online Store 2.0 themes for both brands.
- Convert Figma/UX designs into pixel-perfect, responsive layouts using HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Build reusable sections, snippets and blocks for PLPs, PDPs, mega menus, headers/footers, and content sections.
- Implement UX patterns specific to rugs : size selectors, color swatches, pattern thumbnails, material highlights and room/lifestyle imagery.
Store Configuration, Catalog & Variants :
- Configure collections, tags, metafields and metaobjects for complex rug attributes (sizes, colors, patterns, materials, weave, collections, etc.
- Implement clear and robust variant logic under a single parent product (multiple sizes, multiple colorways, dimension-based pricing).
- Collaborate with Product & Merchandising to ensure catalog structure supports both SEO and conversion goals.
Apps, Integrations & Custom Logic :
- Configure and manage Shopify apps (filters, reviews, search, AR/visualizer, loyalty, translations, etc.
- Support integrations with ERP (Microsoft Navision), CRM/marketing tools, payment gateways and logistics partners in coordination with backend/IT teams.
- Use Shopify REST/GraphQL APIs and Liquid for small custom features, data flows and business rules where needed.
Performance, SEO & Analytics :
- Own day-to-day storefront performance : asset optimization, lazy loading, script hygiene and regular Lighthouse / Core Web Vitals checks.
- Implement SEO-friendly structures : semantic headings, meta tags, alt tags, schema markup, breadcrumb logic and clean URLs.
- Work with the Analytics team to ensure GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel and other events fire correctly across the funnel (home ? listing ? PDP ? cart ? checkout).
Quality, Testing & Continuous Improvement :
- Follow Git-based workflows (branches, pull requests, rollbacks) for safe releases.
- Test across major devices and browsers; proactively identify and fix UI and functional issues.
- Support A/B tests and UX experiments (layouts, offers, content placements) and implement the required front-end changes.
Must-Have Qualifications :
- 35 years of total experience in frontend / web development, with at least 2+ years of hands-on Shopify theme development.
Strong proficiency in :
- Shopify Liquid, Online Store 2.0 themes (sections, templates, blocks).
- HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, Bootstrap.
- JavaScript (ES6+) and basic DOM manipulation.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining live Shopify/D2C stores, not just hobby/demo projects.
- Experience working with consumer eCommerce brands (fashion, lifestyle, home décor or similar).
- Ability to understand Figma/design specs and translate them into clean, maintainable front-end code.
- Basic working knowledge of Photoshop/Figma for slicing assets and handling minor design adjustments.
Good-to-Have (Preferred, Not Mandatory) :
- Exposure to Shopify Plus features (Markets, Functions, checkout extensibility).
- Experience with global setups : multi-currency, multi-language, geo-specific content.
- Familiarity with AR/room visualizer tools for furniture/rugs.
- Basic understanding of CRO concepts (funnel drop-offs, experimentation mindset).
- Exposure to headless or semi-headless setups (Next.js, Hydrogen) is a plus but not required at this stage.
Ways of Working :
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage work across two brands in parallel.
- Strong communication skills can clearly explain technical constraints, timelines and trade-offs.
- Ownership mindset : treats UI/UX, performance and stability of the storefronts as core responsibilities, not side tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment with clear business targets (CVR, AOV, revenue).
