Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on ServiceNow Developer with 4+ years of exclusive experience on the ServiceNow platform.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise across multiple ServiceNow modules, strong scripting capabilities, and proven experience in platform customization, integrations, and enterprise-scale implementations.

This role demands a technology-driven mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

ServiceNow Development & Customization :

- Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules to meet business and technical requirements.

- Deliver end-to-end ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules such as ITSM, CMDB, HRSD, CSM, and related platform capabilities.

- Customize forms, lists, UI policies, UI actions, workflows, notifications, and access controls.

- Develop reusable and scalable solutions using ServiceNow best practices and coding standards.

Scripting & Platform Engineering :

Develop and maintain server-side scripts using GlideScript, including :

- Business Rules

- Script Includes

- Scheduled Jobs

- Fix Scripts

Implement client-side scripts using :

- Client Scripts

- UI Scripts

- UI Policies

Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise with :

- GlideRecord for server-side data operations

- GlideAjax for asynchronous client-server communication

- g_scratchpad for passing data between server and client contexts

- Ensure optimal performance, security, and maintainability of scripts.

Integrations & APIs :

- Design and implement integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.

- Work with inbound and outbound integrations, including third-party systems and enterprise platforms.

- Handle authentication methods such as OAuth, Basic Auth, and token-based security.

- Perform data transformation and mapping using Transform Maps and Import Sets.

Data Model & CMDB :

- Possess strong understanding of ServiceNow data model, tables, relationships, and schema.

- Configure and manage CMDB, including CI classes, relationships, and data normalization.

- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with ITIL and ServiceNow best practices.

Development Tools & Platform Features :

Utilize ServiceNow development tools effectively, including :

- Flow Designer for low-code/no-code automation

- Studio IDE for scoped application development

- Update Sets for configuration migration and version control

- Work within scoped and global applications.

- Support platform upgrades, patching, and release management activities.

Quality, Troubleshooting & Optimization :

- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and perform root cause analysis.

- Optimize existing ServiceNow implementations for performance, scalability, and usability.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to ServiceNow and organizational standards.

- Support testing activities, including unit testing, system testing, and UAT support.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Collaborate closely with business analysts, architects, administrators, and stakeholders.

- Translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers when required.

- Maintain clear technical documentation for configurations, customizations, and integrations.

Required Technical Skills :

- 4+ years of hands-on, exclusive ServiceNow development experience.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting APIs.

- Solid knowledge of web technologies : HTML, CSS, XML.

Extensive experience with :

- GlideRecord

- GlideAjax

- Business Rules

- Client Scripts

- Script Includes

- g_scratchpad

- Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP API integrations.

- Strong understanding of relational databases and ServiceNow data architecture.

- Experience working with Flow Designer, Studio IDE, and Update Sets.

Certifications (Highly Preferred / Plus) :

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Highly Preferred

- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)

- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules (ITSM, HRSD, CSM, etc.) is a strong plus
