Description of role and key responsibilities :

Reporting into the ServiceNow Architect, and working for Group Lending Operations; the Service Now Developer role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities :

- Design and develop ServiceNow solutions to support and transform Lending Operations across the full lifecycle

- Drive automation-first solutions, reducing manual effort and removing human intervention where feasible

- Build and apply knowledge of the lending environment to deliver effective, business-aligned solutions

- Partner with stakeholders across GLO to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements, not just implement requirements

- Stay current with ServiceNow capabilities and advise on optimal use of the platform

- Configure and customize ServiceNow (workflows, scripts, App Engine) and where appropriate develop integrations with lending and other bank systems

- Contribute to process re-engineering, automation, AI / digital and continuous improvement initiatives

- Provide shared platform support (~15% of time) across the ServiceNow Operations instance, working collaboratively with other ServiceNow developers

- Support delivery (testing, release), troubleshoot issues, and ensure solutions meet governance and security standards

Core skills and knowledge :

- Strong ServiceNow development and configuration experience

- Proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Glide API)

- Experience delivering automation-led solutions and reducing manual processes

- Understanding of lending and credit processes, or the ability to quickly build domain knowledge

- Experience identifying improvement opportunities and translating them into scalable solutions

- Knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities, workflows, and App Engine

- Experience with integrations (REST, SOAP, MID Server)

- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role :

- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate (or similar low-code automation tools) would be advantageous, enabling the developer to design and integrate workflow automations alongside ServiceNow solutions.

- Curiosity and initiative to continuously learn both the lending domain and ServiceNow platform

- Experience in transformation or change delivery environments

- Background in banking or financial services (lending preferred)

- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to challenge constructively

- Mindset focused on automation and continuous improvement.
