About the Role :

Serosoft is seeking a Senior Database Developer to lead and enhance our existing database team. The ideal candidate is a technically strong MySQL expert with a proven record in database design, optimization, replication, and administration, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills. You will play a key role in guiding the DBA team, analyzing current challenges, and implementing improvements that enhance performance, reliability, and productivity. You will also be expected to explore AI-driven insights or automation tools that can further optimize database management and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage the DBA team to ensure high productivity and collaboration.

- Design, architect, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing database systems.

- Create and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and Database Schemas.

- Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.

- Perform query tuning, indexing, and performance profiling using advanced diagnostic tools.

- Manage MySQL replication setups (master-slave, GTID-based, group replication) and ensure data consistency.

- Perform routine database administration tasks, including backup/recovery, patching, capacity planning, and monitoring.

- Identify and address root causes of database performance issues and system bottlenecks.

- Plan and execute data migration between the customer and the Serosoft product databases.

- Evaluate and implement AI-based or automation tools for proactive monitoring, performance prediction, or query optimization.

- Establish and maintain database documentation, standards, and best practices.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and DevOps teams for smooth integrations.

- Continuously assess and improve database architecture to meet evolving business needs.

Education & Experience :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a MySQL Database Developer or DBA.

- Proven experience in leading or mentoring a DBA/development team

Skills :

- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, architecture, and optimization.

- In-depth knowledge of MySQL replication, backup/recovery strategies, and high availability setups.

- Experience in query execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance profiling tools.

- Understanding of MySQL storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM) and partitioning.

- Familiarity with AI concepts and tools relevant to database optimization or predictive analytics.

- Knowledge of resource planning, data modeling, and query optimization best practices.

- Experience with other SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with version control (Git/SVN) and CI/CD database deployment

Good to Have :

- Knowledge of PL/SQL and scripting (Python/Shell) for automation.

- Familiarity with cloud database environments (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).

- Exposure to AI/ML-based database monitoring or optimization tools.
