Senior VMware Engineer - Virtualization

Description : Virtualisation SME (Senior VMware Engineer)

Location : Hyderabad

Experience : 6-10 Years

Environment : Enterprise Data Center

Role Overview :

The Virtualisation SME will design, build, and manage enterprise virtualization platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of virtual infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter

- Build and rebuild VMware ESXi clusters

- Configure and manage HA & DRS

- Perform VM migrations across multiple storage arrays

- Monitor and optimize virtualization environments

- Troubleshoot performance, HA, and failover issues

- Manage RDMs, including clustered VM guests

- Plan and execute ESX hardware evergreen activities

- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and security strategies

- Coordinate with SAN, network, and hardware teams

- Follow change management processes and maintain documentation

Technical Skills :

- VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter (mandatory)

- Hyper-V (working knowledge)

- HCI platforms (preferred)

- Strong understanding of virtualization performance and capacity

Automation & Scripting :

- VMware PowerCLI

- Python / PowerShell

- Ansible (preferred)

Certification (Preferred) :

- VCP - VMware Certified Professional

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

- Ability to work independently in production environments

- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
