Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced VB.NET Developer with strong expertise in developing and maintaining Windows-based applications and Windows Services. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in VB.NET development, database programming using PL/SQL, and hands-on exposure to SQL Server and/or DB2 databases. The candidate should also possess experience working in Agile development environments and utilizing modern DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Jira for source code management, CI/CD automation, and project tracking.

The role involves developing enterprise applications, enhancing existing systems, troubleshooting production issues, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Application Development :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Windows-based desktop applications using VB.NET.

- Develop and support Windows Services for background processing, automation, scheduling, and system integration activities.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Develop reusable, scalable, and maintainable application components.

- Ensure applications meet performance, security, and reliability requirements.

- Participate in software design discussions and contribute to technical solution development.

Windows Services Development :

- Design and implement Windows Services for automated business processes.

- Develop services that handle scheduled jobs, batch processing, data synchronization, and system monitoring.

- Monitor and troubleshoot service-related issues in production environments.

- Optimize service performance and resource utilization.

Database Development :

- Develop and maintain complex database objects, including :

1. Stored Procedures

2. Functions

3. Triggers

4. Views

5. Packages

- Write efficient and optimized PL/SQL code to support application functionality.

- Design and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.

- Work extensively with SQL Server and/or DB2 databases.

- Perform database troubleshooting, query tuning, and performance optimization.

- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across applications.

Integration and Data Processing :

- Develop interfaces between applications and databases.

- Support data migration, data synchronization, and data transformation activities.

- Create automated processes for data exchange between enterprise systems.

- Ensure seamless integration between backend systems and business applications.

DevOps and CI/CD :

- Manage source code repositories using Bitbucket.

- Participate in code reviews and version control best practices.

- Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins.

- Automate build, deployment, and release processes.

- Work with development and infrastructure teams to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.

Agile Development and Collaboration :

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production incidents.

- Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, and support documentation.

Maintenance and Support :

- Investigate and resolve application defects and production issues.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.

- Support application upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements.

- Ensure compliance with coding standards and development best practices.
