Senior Test Engineer - Automation/Manual Testing

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead quality assurance efforts for our software applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automated testing, a deep understanding of SDLC/QA processes, and the ability to mentor junior QA engineers.

You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality software releases, identifying defects, and driving continuous improvements in testing processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, strategies, and test cases.

- Analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to identify testable scenarios.

- Define quality metrics and ensure adherence to standards.

- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or TestRail.

- Perform cross-browser, cross-platform, and mobile testing as needed.

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or JMeter.

- Implement CI/CD integrated automated testing for faster release cycles.

- Evaluate and recommend tools for test automation and performance testing.

- Conduct performance, load, stress, and security testing to ensure robustness and reliability.

- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.

- Collaborate with the development team to address security vulnerabilities

- Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure product quality.

- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers on testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, providing feedback on quality and testing progress.

- Maintain detailed test documentation, reports, and defect logs.

- Provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders regarding application quality and risks.

- Track test coverage and quality metrics to support release decisions.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise :

- Strong experience in manual testing, including functional, regression, and integration testing.

- Hands-on experience with test automation tools : Selenium, Appium, Cypress, JMeter, or equivalent.

- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation.

- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA processes.

- Experience with defect management and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Bugzilla).

- Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or Rest Assured.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
