Senior Test Automation Engineer

Role Overview :

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the quality landscape of our products. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable automation frameworks and strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality software. You will work closely with cross-functional development teams, product managers, and QA leads, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to accelerate release cycles, enhance product reliability, and ultimately deliver an exceptional user experience to our customers, driving significant business outcomes through superior product quality.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect and implement advanced test automation frameworks and solutions across web, mobile, and API platforms, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and maintainability for future product iterations.

- Define and champion the overall test automation strategy and roadmap, collaborating with engineering and product teams to embed quality practices early in the software development lifecycle.

- Integrate automated tests seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, establishing continuous testing processes that provide rapid feedback and enable frequent, confident deployments.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of automation engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, best practices, and continuous learning within the quality assurance function.

- Develop and execute performance, load, and security tests, identifying system bottlenecks and vulnerabilities to ensure our applications are robust, scalable, and secure under various conditions.

- Establish and monitor key quality metrics, analyzing test results to identify trends, improve test effectiveness, and provide data-driven insights that inform product development and release decisions.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining complex test automation frameworks using industry-leading tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium for diverse application types.

- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, C#) for scripting and developing automation solutions.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and hands-on experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI for integrating automated tests.

- Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and defect lifecycle management, with a focus on shift-left testing.

- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and a solid grasp of security testing fundamentals.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges.

- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of guiding and developing junior team members.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
