Job Title : Senior Tableau Developer (Data & AI Enablement)

Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Tableau Developer to join our data team and help drive scalable, insight-driven reporting. This role goes beyond dashboarding - you will partner closely with data engineers and analytics teams to build reliable data models, enable self-service analytics, and explore the use of AI tools to enhance reporting and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

Dashboard & Visualization Development :

- Design, build, and maintain high-quality Tableau dashboards aligned to business needs

- Translate complex datasets into intuitive, actionable visualizations for business stakeholders

- Ensure performance optimization and usability across dashboards

Data Collaboration & Modeling :

- Work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to align on data models and definitions

- Leverage dbt models and curated datasets (e.g., star schemas, semantic layers) for reporting

- Write efficient and scalable SQL for data extraction and transformation validation

Data Quality & Governance :

- Validate data accuracy and consistency across dashboards

- Align with governance practices (naming conventions, metric definitions, access controls)

- Contribute to documentation of datasets, dashboards, and business logic

AI-Enabled Reporting :

- Explore and implement AI-assisted workflows in reporting (e.g., natural language querying, automated insights)

- Use tools like Glean or similar AI agents to enhance data discovery and knowledge access

- Partner with teams to identify opportunities where AI can reduce manual reporting effort or improve insights

Stakeholder Engagement :

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on solutions

- Enable self-service analytics by building reusable and well-documented dashboards

- Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7 - 10+ years of experience in Tableau development and data visualization

- Strong proficiency in SQL (query optimization, joins, aggregations, window functions)

- Hands-on experience working with dbt models or similar transformation frameworks

- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, fact/dimension tables, grain)

- Experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks)

- Strong analytical thinking and attention to data accuracy

Preferred / Nice to Have :

- Exposure to AI tools in analytics workflows (e.g., Glean, ChatGPT, or other AI copilots)

- Experience enabling semantic layers for BI tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.)

- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Dataplex or similar)

- Experience working in cross-functional data teams (data engineering, analytics, business)

- Trusted dashboards used consistently by business teams

- Reduced dependency on ad hoc reporting through self-service enablement

- Strong alignment between Tableau outputs and underlying data models

- Early adoption of AI-assisted reporting to improve efficiency and insight generation
