Senior System Engineer - Linux/Windows System Administration

Role Overview :

The Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure system infrastructure.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and performance of enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain system infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.

- Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability of systems and services.

- Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root cause analysis.

- Lead system upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning initiatives.

- Collaborate with application, network, security, and DevOps teams to support business applications.

- Automate system operations using scripting and configuration management tools.

- Implement and enforce security best practices, patching, and compliance standards.

- Create and maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system engineers.

- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response when required.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 5+ years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure, or IT operations roles.

- Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration.

- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).

- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
